This is a large watercolor painting of hydrangea flowers in a realistic style. I spent weeks working on each flower and petal with big care and love because of the format of this work is larger than my usual.
It was a meditation for me to portray all those tones and subtones of purple color and intricate details. Every flower is unique, with deep shades, soft color transitions and intricate textures.
The hydrangea flowers also commonly known as hortenzia are shown in flat lay which I think is an unusual angle for a botanical art.
