The Big Buddha monument is present in many Asia countries. I myself have seen one in Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong. This artwork is inspired by the Big Buddha I saw on my trip to Hong Kong. It was a fantastic monument worth the hike up the mountain. My goal was to capture the contrast of light and shadow as well as the scale of the monument.
This original painting is performed in a minimalistic color palette and in a loose impressionistic style.
