In the summer of 2022, I did my first serious hike in the Alps. Tour du Mont Blanc is one of the world’s most famous treks that circles the snowy Mont Blanc mountain and lies through France, Italy, and Switzerland.

The painting shows one of the mornings on the Tour du Mont Blanc when we passed by a flock of sheep herded by white shepherd dogs. I found the ringing of bells filling up the meadow very soothing. The fluffy fur of the sheep was sparkling in the morning light, an inspiring look for a painting!

Tour du Mont Blanc was a healing experience for me because it was the first time I felt calm and at peace since the start of the war against Ukraine.
